Agnes Fletcher
Agnes is a freelance consultant and trainer. She has supported the development of single equality schemes and delivered equality training covering age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation and human rights.
Before going freelance in October 2007, Agnes worked on disability issues for 16 years and was Director of Policy and Communications at the Disability Rights Commission (DRC).
Agnes has delivered training on disability and communications to government communicators at the Department for Work and Pensions, the Home Office, the Department of Transport, the Department for Communities and Local Government and to a wider range of public sector communication professionals via the Government Communications Network.
Agnes has extensive knowledge of inclusive communications, disability policy and mental health issues, having been lead officer for the DRC’s Mental Health Action Group. Agnes also has experience of communicating with diverse groups of disabled people, including those who do not identify themselves as disabled, BSL level 1 and a good understanding of Deaf language and culture.
